Why choose Pima cotton for baby clothing?
At Earth & Baby Co. we use Pima cotton originating from Peru. Pima cotton differs from conventional cotton due to the extraordinary length of its fibres. This unique characteristic gives Pima cotton some wonderful properties making it ideal for creating clothing meant to care for delicate skin of babies. These are:
- Softness: the fibre is incredibly soft to the touch, making the fabric comfortable and non-irritable to delicate skin.
- Breathable: As a natural fibre, it is lightweight and breathable.
- Hypoallergenic: The fabric is harvested free of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers. It is ideal for sensitive skin.
- High resistance: Due to the fineness and length of its fibres, it is up to 50% more resistant than most standard varieties of cotton. As such, garments are made durable and flexible, whilst retaining their delicacy. This property also allows resistance to pilling and wrinkles.
- Extra long staple: Fibres are extra long measuring between 35.56 to 50.80mm in comparison to conventional cotton measuring between 20 and 28mm.
- Purity: The cotton is hand harvested and is more pure than machine harvesting.
At Earth & Baby Co., Pima cotton is second nature. The use of this fibre allows our garments to be made sustainably, whilst presenting a wonderful set of qualities to care for and love our babies skin.
Where are our organic garments made?
Our 100% organic baby wear is made from hand-harvested Pima cotton in Peru. Our organic garments are free from any harmful chemicals or substances and are grown in fields free from synthetic fertilisers.
How do I care for my Pima cotton baby clothing?
Our garments are made to last and what’s best is they are easy to care for too. Be sure to check individual garments care label, but generally for our Pima cotton clothing, simply machine wash inside out at 30℃ and line dry naturally.
If ironing, be sure to iron on low heat and on reverse, never directly on a design.
Where does pima cotton grow?
Pima cotton grows primarily in Peru, the southwestern United States and Australia. The conditions in Peru coasts are optimal and result in unparallel quality in the pima cotton.
General Queries
I have a coupon code, how can I apply it?
Once you have the items you would like to purchase in your basket, proceed to checkout. At checkout there is an option at the top of your summary to add a coupon code. Add your code to this box and click on the ‘Apply Coupon’ button.
My order arrived but my items are damaged or incorrect, what should I do?
We’re sorry you’re in this situation. If your item(s) arrive damaged or incorrect, please get in touch with our customer services team with a photo(s) of the damaged and/or incorrect item(s) and your order number. We aim to get back to you within 48 hours to confirm how to proceed.
When will my order be shipped?
Once an order is placed, we aim to process and ship your order within 2 working days. You will receive an email to confirm your order is complete, which means it has been shipped.
Do you offer gift cards?
You are able to purchase virtual gift cards on our website, these are in the £10, £20, £25, £50, £75, £100 denomination. Each gift card is valid for 24 months from the date of purchase, but please contact us if you’re beyond this date so we can check if we may still be able to validate it.
I didn’t receive a confirmation email, what should I do?
If you’ve placed an order but haven’t received a confirmation email, please contact our customer services team. We can let you know if your order has gone through and in case it hasn’t we can help you place the order again.
Delivery & Returns
How long does it take to receive my order?
Orders are dispatched Monday to Friday, and the length of delivery depends on the type of postage selected and the delivery country. Orders for delivery within the UK under standard delivery will typically take 3 to 5 business days.
What happens if I’m not in?
We use Royal Mail Tracked 48 to deliver your order. Once your order is confirmed, you will receive tracking information so you know when to expect your order. If you’re not in at the time of delivery, you may receive a note from the Royal Mail, through which you can arrange a re-delivery at a convenient time for you.
What do I do if I typed my address incorrectly?
In case you have entered the wrong address at the time of placing an order, please contact us immediately so that we can amend the order before it is dispatched.
What is your returns policy?
If you would like to return an item(s), please see details here of our returns process. Please note that items returned must be in new, unused condition and in original packaging, and returned to us within 14 days of receipt of your order for us to be able to process a full refund.
I need a different size, can I request an exchange?
Normally if you require a different size, you will need to initiate a return for your order, and place a new order with the required size. We ask however that you contact our customer services team first to see if there may be another way we could help you.
